He took on the richest man in the world in a fight for a just work environment.  In the middle of a pandemic that spreading like wildfire.  He was working in the epicenter of it.  The conditions for their labor were, in a word, deadly.  He tried to alert management about the dangers, and his voice for the most part went unheard, for they like most of us, are the casualties of capital.  Collateral damage in a quest monopoly control and untold riches.  The man I speak of is Chris Smalls.  The behemoth he faced off against was Jeff Bezos and Amazon.  Here's a excerpt from the Guardian article that shows what happens you challenge capital power: Chris Smalls, who had worked for Amazon for five years, was fired shortly after he helped organize a work stoppage at the company’s warehouse on Staten Island, New York, in protest over a lack of protective gear and hazard pay for employees. Amazon claims it fired Smalls for “violating social distancing guidelines and putting the safety of others at risk”.
