Extra: Should Students Get Paid To Go To School?

The Fox News Rundown - Podcast készítő FOX News Radio

Chronic absenteeism in school has been a growing problem in the U.S. for years. The COVID-19 pandemic only made it worse. Several cities have even attempted programs that incentivize kids to show up to class.   Ohio State Representative Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinnati) is co-sponsoring a bill that addresses truancy in his state by paying parents and students for exceptional attendance.   Isaachohn joined the Rundown’s Lisa Brady to explain why he feels that the incentives could help solve Ohio’s education crisis.   The lawmaker discussed attendance programs attempted by other cities and how their results helped them form their proposal. He also addressed the idea’s critics, who say it rewards parents and kids for simply doing what they’re supposed to do. We made edits for time and thought you might like to hear more about this program to help truancy. On today’s FOX News Rundown Extra, you’ll hear even more from Ohio State Representative Dani Isaacsohn (D-Cincinatti) and his controversial idea to help his state’s education system.
