Joy is something that we all aspire to. And for good reason! The body knows that it is the best medicine available to us all. It has been proven that joy can strengthen our immune systems, boost energy, reduce our perception of pain, help with depression and anxiety, reduce the effects of stress, help us sleep better... Apparently, the ancient Greeks used to build their hospitals close to amphitheaters so that patients could attend comedies that were prescribed for healing!The exercise that I give here is to learn to feel both joy and the opposite of joy AT THE SAME TIME! I know that trying to do this in the meagre 10 minutes of this podcast will be quite difficult - so please repeat it a few times and take this exercise into your general practice and into your life.
