In this episode we chat with Carlo Caponnechia, senior lecturer and Associate Dean Equity, Diversity & Inclusion, UNSW. Carlo is also on the Australian delegation for TC283 and the international working group for ISO 45003 – the draft global standard for psychological health and safety at work. Carlo is one of Australia’s foremost experts on systemic approaches to psychological health at work. As such he was the perfect person to talk to regarding the state of workplace mental health in Australia and some of the developments occurring in Australia and internationally to support a health and safety approach to the management of psychosocial risks. Carlo was also kind enough to give us some insights into the development of the ISO 45003 standard and discuss his hopes for how the standard with drive positive change to improve employee mental health outcomes.
