Psych Health and Safety Podcast - Podcast készítő FlourishDx - Hétfők
In this episode we chat with Peter Kelly, Senior Psychologist at the UK Health and Safety Executive (the UK regulator) and member of the international working group for ISO 45003 – the draft global standard for psychological health and safety at work. With more than 20 years of experience at the HSE, Peter was there at the inception of the Stress Management Standard in 2004, the first of it’s type in the world. Did you realise the standard was first written at a pub on the back of three beer coasters? We discuss the state of work related stress, depression and anxiety at a UK and global level. Spoiler alert – the stats aren’t pretty – and that was pre-COVID! We chat about both the legal and moral reasons employers should create psychologically healthy and safe workplaces. We also debate the role of the regulator in enforcing this behaviour. Peter provides insight into the development of the draft ISO 45003 standard, why it was developed, how it is tracking and what he hopes for the future for workplace mental health.
