She trained at Union Memorial in Baltimore for general surgery, the Ohio State University for plastic surgery, and the University of Pennsylvania for a hand surgery fellowship. After a stint at Saint Louis University, she went into private practice in Tennessee, and also obtained an Executive MBA from Vanderbilt University. In 2019 she took a position as the Chief of Plastic Surgery at West Virginia University, to take charge of the new residency program there. She has served on many local and national committees in Plastic Surgery and Hand Surgery, including Co-Chair of Diversity for ACAPS. She is a 2023 Plastic Surgery Foundation Visiting Professor.
