Nathan Ake: Evolve, Adapt, Excel.

Nathan Ake is the latest guest on the Official Man City Podcast. The Dutch international joined the Club in 2020 from Bournemouth and, over the following three years, has become a key figure in Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering side. His versatility, consistency and intelligence have been of immense value to a City side consistently challenging on multiple fronts, with Ake often called upon to play in a number of defensive roles. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing for the Dutch international though, and he discusses the important words of encouragement he received from Pep Guardiola after an injury-hit first season at the Etihad in 2020/21. The defender has more than repaid the manager’s faith during his time at the Club and played the full 90 minutes in our historic Champions League triumph over Inter in June.
