Today’s guest is Angela Derks from Australasian Sustainable Wellness Academy. Angela Derks is the Founder and CEO of ASWA and a respected thought leader with more than 25 years of experience integrating wellbeing into businesses. Starting her a career as a beauty and remedial massage therapist, then upskilling as a Naturopath and Paramedical Aesthetician, Angela has since accumulated national and global experience at the operational and senior leadership level with innovative and award-winning organisations, including Six Senses Resorts and Spas, Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat and Aurora Spas. Having identified the decline in mental health and wellbeing for business leaders and their workforces, Angela’s passion for integrating wellbeing into how we work and live, led her to develop and deliver Australia’s Nationally Recognised Diploma of Wellness Leadership Qualification. This revolutionary qualification now sees Angela working with leaders in both the public and private sector across a diverse range of industries, to help them develop and strengthen capabilities in mental health and wellbeing. Angela also shares her wealth of expertise with the Queensland Government’s Mentoring for Growth Program, and the Spa and Wellness Association of Africa as a Board Advisor for Education. Here to tell us why all businesses need to be embedding mental health and wellbeing into their business strategy and work culture from the Australasian Sustainable Wellness Academy, today we welcome Angela Derks.
