Hi everybody, Helio Alves here for Two Minute Jazz. The baião rhythm is a rhythm from the northeast of Brazil and has this basic pattern played by percussion instruments and accordion that's very important for this particular style.
And a typical sound of the baião is this type of sound, which you have the basic percussion pattern in your left hand and the accordion patterns in your right hand. And it sounds like this with a lot of 16th notes, a lot of syncopation.
Another characteristic of this style is the Lydian flat seven scale that's very commonly used.
Thank you very much for listening. Happy practicing! See you soon.
