Clean Wednesday Matins (Dawn Morning Prayer)

The order of Orthros (Matins and Lauds) and the 1st Hour for the 1st Wednesday of the Great Fast (Clean Week) when it occurs during a week of Tone 4 on Feb 14th. In the UGCC February 14th is the Polyeleos rank feast of the Falling Asleep of our Venerable Father Constantine, whose monastic name was Cyril, Apostle to the Slavs. However, according to the Canons of the Church, no polyeleos rank feast (with the exception of the Annunciation) may be celebrated on Monday through Friday of the First Week, and is instead transferred to the following Saturday, where it is combined with the usual Saturday commemoration. Therefore today's saint is the older commemoration of our Venerable Father Auxentius.
