SHOW NOTES

Happy Holidays all you Heathens! In today’s episode of Talk Heathen, Eric Murphy is joined by Vi La Bianca. It’s going to be a great show!

Let’s get to calls. The first caller is Adam from Ohio. He ponders if it is possible to disprove the existence of God and the supernatural. We must explore and critically look at each claim, including personal testimony.

Next up, Hermer from New York would like to talk about his beliefs. He isn’t a Christian but has a “relationship” with God. Also believes the reason our sweat tastes like salt is because of Lot’s wife (who turned into a pillar of salt.) Just because sweat tastes like salt, doesn’t prove there is a God. Wow.

The following caller named Teddy from California would like to discuss the prime mover argument. Claims an omnipresent and omnipotent entity is the emergent cause of everything. Tune in to hear Eric discuss this argument and a couple others that come up.

The next caller up is Nimclow from Norway would like to discuss absolute certainty. Eric is able to get to the point very quickly, tune in to hear him explain it clearly and succinctly.

Next up, Rob in Toronto (not that Rob), has a couple questions about the burden of proof. Listen in to hear Vi explain the logic behind who has the burden of proof and why.
Afterwards we have Kevin from New York. Kevin would like to discuss near death experiences and a litany and variety of other shotgun thoughts. Watch how Eric and Vi navigate and bring him back to his original question: NDEs.

The next caller, Ash in Nevada would like to discuss how their transition will affect their relationship with a friend or family member whose parents don’t agree with their lifestyle (as if that’s a choice, sigh.) Love to you Ash, please reach out to https://www.seculartherapy.org/ and get the help you need and deserve.

Cam in Wisconsin is up next, he is in that weird “limbo” between theist and atheist and is struggling with completely letting go of theistic thought. He brings up Pascal’s Wager and using fear is keeping him a theist. Eric and Vi break it all down for him.

Our last caller is Andrew in Ohio. If Jesus arrived on Earth today (and was really real, a real person) what would he say to us? Tune in to hear Eric try to lead Andrew to the truth.
