While the writing and performances have received praise, the show's costumes and how they blend period and modern aesthetics to place these vampires in a contemporary setting is an underusing element that contains many subtle details from costume designer Laura Montgomery. A Primetime Emmy Award winner for the show's third season, Laura's work on season 4 is just as impressive, if not more so.
