Above: a glimpse of the cover of 50 Ways to Draw Your Beautiful, Ordinary Life (Flow), the book covered in this episode. Updated! This show has been updated to resolve a problem on mobile -- related, I believe, to my attempts to solve my recording issues. Thank you to the listener that alerted me to the problem. I apologize to anyone who tried to listen previously and was unable to hear the show. Episode 325 of the CMP, a Creativity Matters Podcast In this episode of the CMP, more than you ever wanted to know about my new glasses -- but if you stick it out, there is the tiniest morsel of symbolism as I ponder the in between. Almost a week later, and things are not nearly as "better" as I hoped. (I am soooo frustrated.) But... I am trying to simply get used to things... mourning my eyesight all the way. I almost pulled the plug on this show, despite multiple rounds of cutting, because, really, I doubt more than two of you will be able to make it through the endless glasses talk. Why would you care? Sorry. The book though... the book on drawing and even the steps of drawing a tea cup is worth it. The book in the second half of the show is 50 Ways to Draw Your Beautiful, Ordinary Life: Practical Lessons in Pencil and Paper (Flow). It's a workbook-style book on drawing, and I think many of you will love it! (I picked up a copy at the library, and I encourage you to do the same. If you love it and think you will work through it, then you'll either want to buy one or work through it in a sketchbook. I want to see your tea cups!) For those of you who are long-time listeners, you'll also find a nod of the head at the days of Ed Emberley. (I so clearly remember sitting with my toddler and looking at the Make a World book.)
